What Even Is A “Reformed Mythologist”?!
It’s a Bible-believing Christian who loves stories and storytelling. That’s it.
As a filmmaker, preacher, and teacher, everything I do combines my love of Jesus with a passion for storytelling.
I introduce myself a bit more in the About section.
The best expression of my work is The Hero’s Creed. It combines a storytelling idea called the Hero’s Journey with the ancient Apostles’ Creed.
It starts with a conversation about stories we love and concludes with people saying “I’ve never thought about the gospel like this before!”
The Hero’s Creed address the problem of Main Character Syndrome and the opposite issue of people thinking they’re NPCs (non-playable characters). It reveals how God is the great storyteller, that Jesus is the hero, and shows us our place in the grand narrative of the heavens and the earth.
I’ve taught this material to thousands of people in churches, schools, and universities. I’m passionate about people coming to a deeper understanding of the story of Jesus.
